Living in Mount Washington, KY
Mount Washington is a city in northeastern Bullitt County, with Louisville directly to the north and Bardstown to the south. It started as "The Crossroads," where the old road from Bardstown to Louisville met the road from Shepherdsville to Shelbyville. Those roads are today's US-31E and KY 44. The town was incorporated in 1833 and took the name Mount Washington after the post office turned down "Mount Vernon." Its growth as a Louisville commuter town began in the late 1960s, when GE's Appliance Park opened in Louisville, and that suburban role still shapes it today.

- Which school zone? With several elementary and middle schools in town, the exact address matters.
- Which way do you drive? North on US-31E toward the Gene Snyder and Louisville, or west on KY 44 to I-65 for Shepherdsville and Elizabethtown.
