From Vine Grove

Vine Grove sits to the west and slightly south of post. Drive time to Brandenburg Gate is typically 5-10 minutes from most Vine Grove neighborhoods. Total commute including gate access runs 10-20 minutes depending on your work location. Vine Grove residents who discover Brandenburg Gate often feel like they've found a cheat code — the gate is rarely backed up, and the on-post roads from that direction are less congested.

From Elizabethtown

Elizabethtown is the largest nearby city, located about 12-15 miles south of post. Drive time to Gold Vault Gate is 15-20 minutes via US-31W or Ring Road, plus gate wait time. Total commute during peak hours can run 25-35 minutes. During off-peak hours, you're looking at 20-25 minutes. E-town families accept the longer commute for better schools (Elizabethtown Independent Schools), more shopping and dining options, and a less military-centric community feel.

From Muldraugh

Muldraugh is a small town on the north side of post along US-31W. Drive time to Chaffee Gate is 5 minutes, but Chaffee Gate's limited hours mean you may need to use Gold Vault Gate instead, which adds 10-15 minutes. Muldraugh has fewer housing options and amenities compared to Radcliff and Elizabethtown, but it's worth considering if you find the right property.

Gate Access Requirements

DoD ID cardholders: Active duty, retirees, dependents, and DoD civilians with valid CAC or dependent ID cards can enter through the expedited lane. Have your ID ready before you reach the gate.
